Review: We Turned Her Step Brother Into a Cheer Girl by Mindi Harris

by Mindi Harris

Some stories are long romances, and some are quick kisses in the dark. We Turned Her Step Brother Into a Cheer Girl is the latter, a quick and breezy read that still makes time for fun.

The story is all in the title, as a group of cheer girls arrives to find that one of their members is being held in lockdown thanks to a domineering step brother. The choice is made clear: let his step-sister go to practice or don the skirt himself.

Given the nature of these stories, you can guess where this is headed. Perhaps it would have been nice to see the repercussions of that change, but a quick hit like this is built for efficiency, not necessarily narrative satisfaction.

Regardless, Mindi Harris remains one of my favorite writers in the feminization writing field, and this is a fun one to be sure!
