Stock "Gurl" tells the story of Johnny Diva – a young college senior not afraid of hard work, but would prefer not to do it. A product of wealthy parents who want to see their son succeed in life, they give him a hand with school and his apartment but laid down the law when it came to the rest of his expenses – so he took a job working in a department store. Working at night gave him the chance to go to school during the day and fulfill his fantasies at night as he tried on one ladies outfit after another.

But Johnny was often careless and was nearly discovered by a friend and co-worker. His carelessness eventually got the best of him and his new manager Mindy took advantage and taught him how to be a good little sissy, but she was not the only one aware of Johnny’s night time escapades and he would soon go on a roller coaster ride of feminization, romance and deep rooted anxiety en route to the only decision he could make… facing the truth.

M.C. Questgend’s Stock Gurl has a lot of great moments. Whether readers in this genre are looking for something honest about the urge/need for crossdressing, or find an element of humiliation and punishment exciting, it’s all here. There are workplace near-misses, some old-fashioned blackmail and a handful of scenes involving sexual encounters with men and woman alike.

That said, there are a few things keeping Stock Gurl from becoming a real classic in the genre. Some simple grammatical errors, like some abrupt changes in verb tense within the same paragraph, are not fatal errors, but do distract from the narrative.

Also, there is a building story line involving Johnny/Joanie’s boss and another employee and their manipulation of the main character. When their comeuppance happens, I was honestly surprised, and it felt a bit too rushed for the payoff to land entirely.

Despite these minor flaws, Stock Gurl tells a winding tale of a secret obsession and redemption I liked very much!
